50 years ago, 1974 I worked my first pharmacy rotation as a student at Carthage Discount Drugs. Jimmy Joe Hackett gave me my first opportunity for on the job experience which was required. One year later, summer of 1975 he went ahead and hired me even though I had another 9 months of school.
After graduation I worked for him six years.
Today his son , Michael Hackett now owner of Hackett’s Discount Drugs, came over to the Dasher DOME to ck rifle for upcoming Elk hunt.
After finishing working his 7 mm Weatherby Mag out to 600, 700, and even 800 he had to go to a wedding but he had just enough time left to try a bench gun for the first time.
First, he had the Jewell trigger lesson. Passed with flying colors.
Next I zeroed the Bat 6 mm BRX at 800 yd. Two shots. Only had ten rounds. Now Michael sat down under the Bat
and the Seb Neo Joystick. When you get the dot on the one inch orange
bull touch it off. As I watched his finger on the Jewell trigger He touched her off.
I took my muffs off , I heard metal clang, and I looked back at Junebug for the report. Michael hit right next to my shot. He took another shot and nearly hit bullseye. I asked Michael if he woul have believed it.
Junebug said it was egg worthy. He tried the 800 yard egg
and was so close. Then he went back on plate and actually took out the 1 inch orange
bullseye.
