humidity and powder -

I wanted to share this with those of you who live in a higher humidity environment.

loading for pistol with an RCBS ammo master II, using Hog universal for 40 sw and 45 acp I experienced wide velocity spreads ad horrible sd,etc. -- very unusual

I load in the garage here in Miramar Beach, Fl, - powder is kept in a fire file cabinet where the temp etc. are pretty constant - came home and began to look at the press and powder measure, ugh!! I had left the powder in the measure between loading - 2 days- temp 90-92 and humidity 80% +, cant remember doing this before -- wont do it again

in that short time the powder had absorbed moisture enough to etched the baffle, built up on the drop area of the measure and generally was a mess to clean up. no way the loads were constant!

watch the temp and humidity, NEVER LEAVE POWDER IN THE MEASURE - ESPECIALLY IN THE SUMMER AND HIGH HUMIDITY AREAS!

Exactly why I built my bench indoors and store everything in a spare room no one goes in. Here in Texas its just to hot in the summer might be 110 with high humidity year round. Now everything stays climate controled year round including me.. I just maintain extremely good house keeping on and around my bench area..
