I received my books today and while I found out about these books just last year I knew I wanted to get them.
I do not own a 17 center fire (yet) but I have a good friend with several and we hand load for them I knew I wanted both books.
Todd if you’re reading this I know I want to say thanks for everything you put into these books.
So much info on calibers I didn’t know much about and some I never knew

It was a sad day when Small Caliber News went away, if you enjoy those two books I suggest you look in the classifieds or put up a WTB add for a used collection.I have a feeling you would love them.Small calibers are very addicting.
Enjoy your books.I refer to mine all the time.

Like everyone else has said, thanks Todd for promoting the small cartridges! I really miss the Woodchuck Den. First place I went for small caliber, brass, dies etc. I own the Terrific Twenties and reference it all the time. I was hoping retirement wouldn’t suit you and you’d put on open sign back on the door but appears thats not gonna happen. Best of luck in whatever endeavors your under taking now.

More splatter=more gooder
Baloney! Way back when, when they first became popular I started with a 17Mach IV in a Kimber 84 which was wonderful but temperamental especially when it got hot.
Due to SmallCaliber News, talking with Todd( damn you Todd) and knowing well Tom Thomas down in Pa. Where a lot of sub cal showed up, that morphed into a couple TAC 20’s. Ain’t nothing more gooder than those, right out to 500 yds.
One set up with 40 Vmax, 3900+fps one with 32 Vmax, 4000+fps, plenty of splatter.
I must confess, however, still have my 17CCM…..3200 fps with 9.2gr of powder.

He’s around a couple forums, playing with some RFBR lately, chatted with him several times about this and that.

I need to order a copy of each, as I’m just getting in to the small stuff (just in time for all the good shops to close or people to pass away, it seems…). I thought I saw a thread from Todd from August of last year or so saying there was big news and a possible buyer for the Woodchuck Den?

Yes, I have an old copy of the Sensational Seventeens. Had two 17 Remingtons down to one.
Used some 30 gr Bergers, 25 gr, 20 gr & 15.5 gr Hornaday, Remington 25 gr HP, 28 gr double HP by Calhoon. The high velocity does a nice job on squirrels, and sage rats. The 15.5 is fast at 4900 fps, the right powder might get 5000 fps...don't have the powder for that, some say they achieved 5000 fps with it...A fun round.
