Hello,
I have purchased a 33 inch barrel that is a full 1.5 inches in diameter and fluted full length. I will be using a Remington action with the barrel, which will be used for long range hunting and informal target shooting on our range.
I have had barrel blocks on lighter barrels. I have two potential stocks to use for this rifle. W/O a bedding block I have a B&C prone stock already setup for me and already bedded for a Remington action. Almost certainly I shall be adding 4 inches to the forestock and extending the rail to hold the bipod into this area. The other Stock is a Master Class which is presently bedded for a heavy barrel and a Stolle action I no longer have. The forend of this stock is very long already.
I would appreciate experienced insight with dealing with such a heavy barrel and doing it correctly the first time.
Thank you for your attention in this matter.
