Howdy, from a not so "United" Kingdom

Welcome from a certified "less refined" from Pennsylvania! Will look forward to photos of the area, the hunts and sea bass. (we do allow exceptions for anglers if they shoot too!)

Welcome aboard to a great Forum.

Myself I've been reloading, target shooting, and hunting for close to 50 years now or is it over 50 years?

While I hunt various species my passion is varmint hunting i.e. eastern ground hogs or as some call them wood chucks or "whistling pigs" although I never heard one whistle but maybe that's because I lost my high frequency hearing capability many years ago.

Enjoy the Forum.

I really like your gun choices. That's a "I can do it all" selection
Good to have you on the forum for a different perspective and a keen insight on "gun control".

Lee, pleased to hear that you can still enjoy the shooting sports in the UK. Before I retired I was fortunate to be able to travel to the UK many times and live and work there twice, the last time about 25 years ago. I lived in a small village not too far from Portsmouth, actually. With the help of a local sponsor and a friendly local Constable I was able to navigate the red tape and secure a Shotgun License which allowed me to buy shotshells to shoot in local sporting clays matches. I can only imagine that the firearms regulations have gotten a lot more onerous since then. The local clay shooters were very friendly and I was able to borrow shotguns to participate in the matches until I was able be buy a Krieghoff K80 sporting clays gun from a dealer in Cornwall. Hope you are able to continue to enjoy shooting for many years to come! Vic

I think Covid has exposed just how un United many countries are and exposed laws that are centuries old when there were Federated or United or whatever the term that country used. In Australia it has been very interesting to see individual States close their borders to other States. Then the blame game starts whether it is a Commonwealth / Federal run facility or a State run facility which really is a crock of shit the only real intervention the Federal gov has in most things is Putting in Policy and collecting money from Taxpayers and then distributing funds directly to states and in some cases directly to institutions like health care Hospitals and Aged Care. So much passing the buck Covid has exposed it all.
