Howa mini HB 6Arc

Brownells has dropped the price on the Howa Mini-1500 barreled action to $399. They are also running a summer discount of 15% on your cart using the coupon code "SUMMER15". To my surprise I was permitted to also use this coupon to knock off another $60.

This morning the price before taxes for a Mini 1500 6mm ARC (20" HB) was $339. Yes, it finally was to good to pass it up. Hope you get what you want!

Those that ordered, did it come with a magazine? I assumed it did since it was in the picture but I did not get one.
I picked up one a little over a year ago. light 22" barrel. Yes that barreled action came with a mag. make me a reasonable ofer & Id likely let it go. did over capitalize & went w the Jefferson bottom metal.

I spoke with Brownells yesterday and they are sending me a magazine. Excellent customer service.
Any regrets on the bottom metal? I'm leaning BDL type from Oregon.

I run a number of CZ 527 rifles & went with the J.O. bottom metal that accepts the CZ 527 mag. this works well for me as I already have the 527 mag.

Reality is I have rebarreled a CZ 527 that was 7.62 x39 to 6mm ARC. I really prefer the CZ 527 re-barreled to 6mm ARC rifle to the Howa 6mm ARC rifle with the upgraded bottom metal. Just my perception. Your view may vary.

I bought a barreled action from Brownells last fall. Mine has the 20" barrel. Then got a Stocky's VGM for it and the flush bottom blind floorplate from Jefferson Outdoors. Today is sits with a Nikon Slughunter 3-9 scope on it. Probably should have just gone with a standard sporter style stock, as the VGM puts my hand, and trigger finger, at a weird angle that isn't comfortable for me. Standing and shooting it like I would shoot an offhand stage it's OK, but off the bench it is so unlike any other stock I have that I'm not so sure I like it yet.

Mine seems to favor heavier bullets, and I've loaded with the 70 TNT, some older 71 Bergers, the Speer 75 HP, Sierra 85 BTHP, Sierra 90 TGK, Hornady 95 SST, Hornady 105 AMAX, and the 107 Match Monster bullets. Everything easily stays under 1.5 MOA with Varget, Lever, and CFE223, but nothing consistently shoots under 1 MOA, although the 70 TNT with Varget does frequently. Still working on those 85-95 weight bullets, and they look promising. I get a 3-4 shot knot with the SSTs, then one about 2" away. It's an older box of bullets, so may have loose tips. The process may benefit from a better scope as well, although I'm not clicking, just shooting groups, so maybe not.

I am new to mini actions. Just got a Howa and have never handled the CZ. What do you prefer about the CZ?

I bought a barreled action in 6.5 Grendel before the 6 ARC was available.
I made a 6 mm AR (Grendel) 1 in 10.
Boyds stock, Oregon Gunsmithing flush bottom metal
Have yet to shoot because it’s too hot.

While the reason for my preference for the CZ527 boils down to many more aspects than one thing, If I had to pick one thing, The set trigger feature is a feature that I really appreciate. The easy strip down of the bolt for maintenance has been a sweet experience. The old world Mauser Action w the controlled round feed has been appealing to me as well. The range of calibers running from 17 Hornet up to 6.5 Grendel has been a neat experience.

The wide range of stocks over the years has allowed a few standouts for me. The VG Kevlar stocks have been my favorite.

I sent the borescope down the barrel of my Howa yesterday after cleaning and have to say it’s a darn nice barrel for a -$500 rifle. No big surprises in it at all.
