Always wanted one of these for some reason. MN now allows rifles in certain areas for deer hunting so I figured this was a good excuse to get a rifle for the "Kids". I figure this guy with a supressor within 2-300 yards should be a good deer rifle.
This is a heavy barrel 20" 6 ARC with the wood stock. 7.5 twist, and threaded 5/8-24. I couldn't justify getting the carbon version w/o just going all in and building a custom myself. I am however fairly happy with the wood stock and can work with it. I will be testing it and if needed, tuning the trigger and doing a full bedding job. For the money, I figured I'de just buy one of these, it ends up being relatively cheap. If I end up liking the cartridge, may build a custom down the road.
I picked up some Peterson Brass as well to test. Not sure what bullet i'll be using. I know they are designed to shoot heavier bullets, but I think I'll start with some sierra 85 gr hpbt, and some 90gr TGK's. I have plenty of heavies to try as well if needed. Looking through my powder it looks as though I have everything except leverevolution which seems to be a popular powder. I might start with some h4895, varget, and 8208. Still researching powders to use, but I might grab some LeverRV to test as well.
Will be doing a full YT review on it eventually, but gotta wait for a rail and a scope to show up.
