Howa Bedding Question

I have a Howa 1500 short action (pic below), and am unsure about bedding due to the Howa's design. That design is a flat bottom action with an integral recoil lug. The front action screw threads into the bottom of the recoil lug. I believe most bedded actions have the bottom of the recoil lug clear of the lug recess in the stock. In the case of the Howa, should bedding material go against BOTH the flat bottom receiver AND the bottom of the recoil lug, OR, just the receiver bottom?

Seems to me if the recoil lug is clear of the lug recess bottom and the front action screw tightened, then a bending force is applied to the action. The front action screw is trying to bring down the recoil lug, while the flat bottom of the receiver is sitting firmly against the stock. I am not sure there is any meaningful bending moment on the action, but wondering.

Thanks. Phil

I put pillars in mine and bedded it so the remaining part of the recoil lug is in contact with the pillar and the bedding......Right or wrong that's what I did and it shoots dang good.

I’m watching with interest since I have a Kimber 82G with the same setup for the recoil lug. I was thinking of pillar bedding the lug with slight clearance on the sides and front. I don’t know squat so I will wait for the answer from someone that does.
