How to tell

Is there any way to tell if a rifle was made for a specific type of 22lr ammunition. Like chamber measurements or anything else. I know all 22lr ammunition shoot differently in each gun. With the lack of ammo around and the inability to buy the same lot for testing what is the best solution. Any ideas besides buying a bunch of different types and hoping to get the same lot as your testing or is that the only answer.

Generally speaking.... A benchrest rifle built by a professional probably has a specific chamber cut for a certain type/brand of ammunition. A semiautomatic rifle generally has a chamber cut looser than a BR chamber. A less expensive rifle generally has a looser chamber than an expensive rifle.

With all that said anyone serious about accuracy will lot test their ammunition.
