You can resize photos with the resident iPhoto program.

If you want something more powerful (capable of adding layers, text etc.) you can use the FREE GIMP software. See: http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/

There are numerous ways to resize a photo on a MacPro, including the iOS native Preview App.

1. Crop your photo to be a square.

2. Upload the photo to www.picresize.com

3. Select "dimensions" and set the size to 200x200 pixels.

Save the photo and then use this for your Avatar.

Photoscape is some good editing software and it's FREE! Also IMGUR is a good FREE pic hosting site. Went to that after PhotoBucket got weird.
