How to mount reticle and get it aligned horisontaly and verticaly?

I saw an article on some page about the effects of having the reticle wrongly mounted vertically and horizontally, and how to mount int right. It could have been at 6mmbr.com but I don't find it. Does anyone know of such an article and could give me a link or write me a little guide?

Thank you! / Henrik

I mount a B Square level on the scope base. I then hang a plumb bob out about 50 or 100yds [ depends on scope power ] Use 1/4" line on the plumb bob or you can't see it. I then align the vertical crosshair with the plumb bob line while making sure the B Square level bulb is centered.

If you do not have a place to hang a plumb bob, drive your pickup truck out about 25 to 50 yards with the tailgate facing you. Put a big carpenters level on the tailgate, level it with shims of wood, sticks, stones, whatever. Line up your horizontal crosshair with that.

If you are using a one piece base you can use a set of feeler gages to align reticle. This only works with a flat bottom scope & one piece base. place feeler gage between base & scope and align then tighten down rings.
