How to keep your feet warm in cold weather better idea.

Long before all this hi-tec stuff was around. My mom and grandma would make tight knitted wool socks and mittens for us and stitch them to nylons for our feet and a leather shell for our hands. I don't remember having cold feet or hands in our Minnesota winters as a kid.

I've never used the modern synthetic (plastic) under wear. I don't hunt, fish, chase cows or work anymore. If it's cold I'm inside and retired. But, I'm still a believer in the old time wool long johns. "Itchy scratchies, the secret weapon of every gun fighter" according to Eddie Bauer. Heavy 'Malone pants', well insulated rubber boots, with more wool on top, and a goose down coat. That was the "uniform of the day" working or duck hunting in very cold weather. When the day was done, get inside, pull off all the insulation, turn up the heat and let it get to ya and have a pull on the jug or maybe a beer and bump. It was a good day!!
