How to get rid of a carbon ring

Seems like I got one in my 223.

Whats the best way to get rid of it.

I read one post of a Iosso or JB bore paste
and a nylon brush.

Anything other methods ??

I my opinion you would need to use a phosphor bronze brush with Slip 2000 or some other good carbon solvent. If that doesn't get it out, then JB bore paste or one of the other abrasive pastes. It might take several sessions do get it all out. You might even try soaking in Wipeout for several overnight sessions also.

Hope this helps, Phasor

Find an old arrow; remove the field point. Thread in a brass cleaning brush one size under bore size. Wrap patch around brush, apply JB. Attach arrow nock to a cordless drill chuck and tighten. insert brush just past chamber mouth, run drill slowly 10 - 20 revolutions. Remove and clean chamber well with denatured alcohol on a nylon brush. Presto!! No more carbon ring. :)
