How to "fix" a short throat 22-250

See post #4. The longer bullet I want to shoot (70gr RDF) the tapered part of the bullet is going past the case mouth and starting to gap.

Yes, I understand that, but you said it shoots those bullets really well, and, you said velocity wasn't an issue, so if it's already doing everything really well, why do you care how/where the bullet sits in the case neck?

Well I got it cut, he added .064 to the throat for the RDF bullet but this same distance made less of a difference for the 60gr V-max bullet I took as well. He would not cut more, said there was no reason to deeper as throat wear will do that and cutting deeper would limit my ability to shoot shorter bullets. He did say that Savage really made that one short for a 9 twist. Will post back after I shoot it some more.

loaded some test rounds and so far, so good. This is a 70gr Nosler RDF and I can actually seat them to get a bullet jump now and its clearly not back into the case mouth.
