How to convert from Posa mounts to modern mount and rings?

Take the old bases off, get a new pic rail and tap the receiver to accept it.

Sound's like you're better off getting a gunsmith to do it for you.

Should not be expensive.

Nice rifle btw.

You could use these on your bases. You would want the 'Big Bore' rings/thumb screws which are made to screw into the Posa type base to help absorb recoil. I have a new never unwrapped set of Redfields I would sell for $130 shipped. However with your present setup as to where bases are located on the sleeved action you won't find a newer type receiver mounted scope that long. You would need to move the front base back to about mid point or so, depending of course on which brand/model of scope you bought or planned to use.
