How to “0” threading micrometer.

How do I go about “zeroing” or calibrating my screw thread micrometer when both anvils are adjustable? I have the little Mitutoyo gauge it came with that pointy on one side and v shape on the other, but you have to center it by eye, and I know that’s not the most accurate way. It’s a 1-2” digital screw thread mic.
Thanks

If it's a digital micrometer I would say insert the set of anvils needed for the thread pitch you are measuring. Turn the thimble into the anvils centering them up the best you can. You might have a friction thimble or have to rely on your feel but once set on the standard you should be able to zero the digital micrometer at that point.
