I’m good with the 450’s. I “long” for 8 pounds of H4895Cci 450s and h4895 is great combo in my 6br and 6bra.
What were the groiup size differences?I made it to the range this morning. It was pretty cool, 45 degrees and breezy. I set up my Ohler 35 Chronograph.
I loaded up my standard load of 35.0 grns of 4198, which gave an average 3060 fps on this morning.
Without changing anything, I loaded using the 450’s.
The average velocity was exactly he same. But the accuracy was at best sub par.
I tried a couple of adjustments, went up and down on the charge a little. No improvement.
I went back to the Genex primers and the rifle returned to normal. I also loaded some with 205’s, Rifle shot great.
My best friend Ed said he tried some 450’s a while back in his 30BR, which uses the same chamber as mine, with the same results.
However, they are the go to primer in his Dasher and BR-A.
Next week end I will try them in my 6BR with the 80 grn Barts.
High ones with the 205’s and Genex, threes with the 450’s.What were the groiup size differences?
Jackie, my groups improved in my 2 dashers with 450's when I seated the primers .006 below flush. I did several tests before I came up with that number. Your mileage may vary.I made it to the range this morning. It was pretty cool, 45 degrees and breezy. I set up my Ohler 35 Chronograph.

I've been running them in 6.5x47 and 223 as well. Good thick cup for higher pressure loads.Using 450s now in our 6.5x47, 6xc and our longrange 223s.
Works great.

I think they are a bit harder. I never could use them til i switched to the newer bat firing pin. I think on a ppc where you can actually tell a difference, the harder cup has a different harmonicHigh ones with the 205’s and Genex, threes with the 450’s.
Jackie I tried 450's in my 30BR just for shits and giggles and they weren't as good whatsoever in that round. I tried BR4's and never got them to shoot as well as regular 205's. Now the BR4's outperformed the 205's in my 30x47 by a wide margin but I'm using 43.5 to 44 grains of N133 in that cartridge. The 205's just didn't ignite that amount of 133 too well.I made it to the range this morning. It was pretty cool, 45 degrees and breezy. I set up my Ohler 35 Chronograph.

Brownell's has been hosing there buyers every time they get any in, I have been watching and when Powder Valley has been getting any they have been 400's or 450's. Brownell's seems to be trickling them in about the same time but instead of $105.00 a thousand Brownell's has stayed north of $160.00.Brownells had CCI BR4 yesterday for $165![]()
