How much MOA ?

Thanks for the information. I thought that something could be amiss. I bought this from an individual related to this forum. I had read online that it had 60 MOA. Maybe I got snookered.
A scope with an advertised 60 moa of adjustment will have 30 moa of travel from a centered reticule, So 30 up and 30 down, Sometimes it's a little less in reality. Most people don't realize this, So when they go to shoot longer ranges and run out of adjustment, They think they should have had plenty.

Some of the higher powered scopes like say a 10-40x50 for example have an advertised range of adjustment of 45 moa, So you will have 22.5 moa in either direction from a centered reticule. So say it took 4 clicks to get zeroed at 100 now you have that much less.

Center your cross hair in your scope. (four complete turns total so two turns to center)then go to 100 yds and shim till your on target or A little high. Now you can come down to 50 yds or up to two hundred yds and have all your adjustments

I'm not an expert but you might want to use Burris rings to keep the cross hairs in the middle of the tube for more lateral adjustment. Just something to think about .

I have a Big Sky Sightron with a one inch tube that has a total of 25 vertical moa. I’m going to mount it in Burris adjustable rings. My question is: how much moa should I use to be able to accommodate. .22 RF from 50 yds. out to 200 yds. Thanks for your input.
Assuming you are using standard velocity target ammo in the 1070/1080 fps range, from 50 yd zero you need to come up about 7 inches at 100, and from 100 to 200 yds another 40/45". This will get you on the paper.

I also have an older Big Sky 36x and it has only 40 moa total adjustment. Great scope with dead nuts tracking, but I put it on my 6br for 100-1000y shooting which it just covers with +20 rear and -20 front inserts in Burris rings.

Here’s a view of her. I set it up with all 40 Moa.
I've redone dozens of these. You have to be real careful or you will bind or bow the scope with just 40moa inserts. Those Burris six screw rings are an inch wide, square cut. They will try to square up with centerline of scope, something has to give, your scope.
Topwater,if you have your scope mounted to your rifle, remove the two crossbolts in the front ring, you'llsee a gap.
9 out of 10 times the scope will raise up .005" -.015".Cut the end off the proper snug feeler gauge, install it between ring and scope base.
I actually use a dial indicator when mounting scopes. After everything is mounted,I place a dial indicator on bell, then lossen front clamp, then do the same at rear.I also check scope bases same way. I try to mount scopes eye level, you can easily see .005 movement when loosening and retightening clamps.
