How Much Freebore for 82gr Bergers?

Will this reamer work?
http://bullets.com/products/-223-Chambering-Finish-Reamer/T10175

Having a rifle built in .223 and looking to shoot 82 bergers. The rifle will be fed by magazine only. I just want to make sure I have enough freebore and case capacity to push these heavy guys. I will be using Varget powder if that helps.

Just thought I would check here before I head out to buy a box of brass and bullets to measure for myself.

Thanks!

May not feed thru a magazine do to OAL. Reamer would be better with a .060 freebore or greater. Short neck case, long bearing surface of .377 and a base to ogive of .547 for the 82 Berger

Pretty much the info I was looking for. This bullet will eat up more case capacity than I thought with a COAL of 2.5" I wonder what kind of velocity would be attainable with varget and a 27" barrel.

My 12yr. old sons f/tr rifle has a 26" Mcgowen prefit barrel on it with the wylde chamber and shooting the 90 gr smks seated from bto at 2.015 and 25gr of pp2000 it's running right 2725 it shoots pretty good I also checked this round to see if it would fit in the AI mags and they do with a little room to spare. He shot this weekend and shot a 292 out of a possible 300 at 500.Work up to your loads.

That reamer is a .223 SAAMI spec, no good at all for heavy bullets in .223. Call Pacific Tool & Gage and tell them what you want to do. They'll suggest something like a .223 Wylde, 5.56 mm Match or Noveske Mod 0.

I have a Shilen 1/7 twist I shoot 82 berger ,.252 neck and it shoots great, Shilen gets their reamers from pacific tool , call shilen they'll tell you reamer number

I shoot heavies in a 223 and a 223 AI, I am a bit conservative on my freebore, usually .095 gives me plenty to shoot any 80 class bullet with a bit of jump without having the boattail junction below the neck.
