How Much Does Rain Affect Trajectory?

Boeshield T-9 is the only coating that will stay on a bullet at supersonic speeds and repel rain. It is used to keep jet wings from freezing.

Yeah, right.

We're not talking an ordinary, run-of-the-mill jetliner here, the rifle bullets we're talking about are significantly above Mach 2 coming out of the barrel, faster than the Concorde, approaching SR-71 speeds. The acceleration alone (0 to Mach 2.5 in less than 3 feet,) causes the coating to be left behind at firing time. It probably gums up the throat of the barrel, but at least it will repel rain and keep the barrel from freezing, which is always a good thing.

Dang, no wonder I'd have pile of moly in my barrel, knocked it right off the bullet.
I was joking.

Is that sub or supersonic wings? The site did not specify .
I'm not sure, but it comes in liquid form also, not just aerosol, so if a guy used the wet(moly) method, it would be impregnated in your bullets and could not get blasted off in the barrel. It'd slice rain drops in half on it's non impeded journey to a 1K bullseye.

I have shot some of my best scores in the rain. Personally I believe the drop in elevation is due to the barrel staying cooler and the outside temp being cooler. It also gives a more consistent temperature for the barrel. My elevation changes have been minimal and the bullet seems to just ski through the water. I dont necessarily like shooting in the rain but my equipment sure does not seem to mind.

Last rain I shot in was on a covered firing line and the rain was driving hard up under cover. I had to pour water out of my barrel channel and scope hood but it was one my best scores ever.

So if rain wont wash it away will it hold up to the heat ?

I just shoot a Creedmoor. Nothing stops that round. Lol....

Oh NO! Not you again. Maybe you could start a new site called 65guysandgals.com or creedmoorfanboys.com. I will admit you have a knack for inserting your comments in just the right spot in a thread though. /joking off. Love ya dude
