how on EARTH do you blow out a primer on a bolt gun ?

And how many of the 243 documented rounds exhibit this? If not all, what might be different between the ones that did and the ones that didn't "blow" the primer out? Please share the load with us and what manual listed it. I'd love to see some pics. A single pic can be worth a thousand words.

A friend taught me this one. After you have cleaned your barrel, start a snug patch part way up the barrel, and then slowly draw the rod back, with just a couple of fingers. If it hesitates (requires a slight increase in effort) when the patch gets to the throat, you have a carbon ring. These rings will show a white patch after cleaning. If yours is large enough to cause the pressure you are seeing , filling the bristles of an nylon bore brush with IOSSO and working the throat and back 8-10" until a patch pulls back with no extra resistance at the throat is the best way to fix the problem. The advantage of the nylon brush is that you can reverse it in the bore.
