How much bullet in the case neck?

So, how much of the bullet needs to be in the case neck? Reason I ask, is that I picked up a Remington 700 in 6.5 CM and the 100gr Nosler CC bullets will be out of the case neck before contact with the rifling. The Hornady 95 gr Vmax and the 100gr Nosler BT will only be in the neck about 0.035" and just short of the rifling.

So far, using Varget, I can get a decent group of 1/4" to 3/8" with the BT and the Vmax, but no joy with the CC

Concerned about consistent powder burn with so little of the bullet in the neck.

I load single shot for our Varmint Silhouette matches, so 500 yds is as far as I plan on using the rifle. Really don't need a heavy bullet. 123 Amax is plenty for the 400-505yd targets and I want a lighter bullet for the shorter range targets, 165-338 yds

When my throat had eroded enough I have had as little as .050" in the case neck with .308 Palma loads and they still shot well. Would never try that with a repeating rifle of course.
Also very careful in handling the box of loaded rounds lest I induce extra run-out.

As standard one caliber worth of actual bullet side wall into the case neck discounting any length of a boat tail that does not grip the neck.
