How many times can brass be reloaded before accuracy is affected?

I know when primer pockets loosen the bass has served its purpose, not to mention case head stretch and worse failure. However, up until this point, is there a point where even though all is well, the brass is no longer suitable for long range precision shooting? I have some Lapua brass with well over 25 firings and the primer pockets do not show any leakage, case heads do not show stress but accuracy has waned?

Thx Diego

You ain't using enough powder. :)

I can't help ya. I've never had my brass hold a primer more than about six or eight loadings.

I anneal every 4 or 5 shootings, 6.5 X 47 using 38.4 gr of Varget. Maybe I was off a bit, but at least 15-20 reloads on this set.

Re: How many times can brass be reloaded before accuracy is affected? Flash hole

Flash hole will enlarge each time you fire the case and extreme spreads
will get worse, but at what diameter? .075 to .080? for small rifle flash hole.

My .308 Nosler brass seems to max out at 7-8x before it gives up the ghost (primer pockets blown). My ES hasn't varied much. A lot of 20 rounds the ES was only 11 FPS.

How many miles will I get out of my next new car? Really!
Exactly....depends on how hard you use it. I've got about 25 reloadings on my 6BRX brass and I'm on a second barrel with the existing brass. It still shoots in the 590's for F-class.

6 or 8 fireings is all some of you are getting?

That can get costly with Nosler brass at $56 per box of 25.
I would be buying LAPUA it's a little cheaper

My experience with 6PPC and 6BR , is that 10-12 loadings and accuracy starts to wane . I anneal every three loads . I replace it all and start with new brass and accuracy is back . In my opinion spring back of the brass , along with neck tension , starts to change at about 10 loads , that's why the new brass solves the problem . In talking with other benchrest shooters this is quite the norm .

And wayyyyyyy Better!!
Wayne.

When I started out (about a year and a half ago) I couldn't get my hands on any Lapua brass at the time. So I figured I'd try Nosler. I agree the Nosler was expensive, but it's what I could get my hands on at the time. My plan is to burn out the rest of the Nosler and see how long they all last. I'm not sure what the average life expectancy is on Nosler.

Recently, I've been able to switch over to Lapua($70 per 100) and we shall see how long it lasts.

I have heard this? I am having issues with 6.5 X 47 Lapua accuracy, maybe I need a new lot of brass to see if this fixes the problem?

The brass has been trimmed 3 times, not much growth?

i think brass life has everything to do with your chamber... how much do you have to move the brass on your re loadings...
