How many bolt face sizes are there & is there a chart for the calibers/wildcats

Their must be a chart? I should know most of this but where do I find that info? PG

Get a copy of COTW (Cartridges Of The World). There are illustrations of all of the current US cartridges, and tables with dimensions of all others.

There are as many bolt face sizes as there are cartridges.

That linked post seems to have neglected to include both the .421" & .440" case head diameters: .25/.30 REM & their later variants 6.8 SPC / 6HAGAR / 6WOA, etc. and 7.62x39, the various PPC's, 6.5 Grendel, 6RAT, 6mmAR & Turbo, respectively.

All cartridges with chamberings suitable for the AR platform - the .25/.30 REM perhaps excepted owing to their long OAL's unless modified.

There are four common/practical bolt face dims. in use today....the .222 class size (.375) the PPC size (.440) the .308/30-06 size (.473) which encompasses MANY various wildcat children of these cals. and the Mag class family 300 win./300 H&H/300 WSM,etc. (.532).....these are sizes that you can buy actions that have one of these common bolt faces.....Roger

Then there is the 0.515 for anything based on the 8X68 RWS case such as a 30 BooBoo. BAT will make one up if you ask them.

Also the WSSM bolt face, Wildcats/ Calibers are as numerous as the sands, If you had a complete list, wow that would be a volume. PTG offers a book with all standard and wildcat reamers they have produced, I think it's 43$ from Midwayusa. Adam

Don't forget the rimmed cartridges.

.350 - Hornet.
.408 - Bee.
.506 - 30/30.
.514 - Marlin
.545 - Krag.
.610 - 348 Winchester.

To name just a few. As I said earlier, there are just as many bolt faces as there are cartridges.

I am pretty sure that the WSM and WSSM both can use the .532 bolt face. I have a BAT with a number of tubes, including a 6.5 WSSM and a 300 wby. Both work just fine.
