A cook stove oven would surely not get hot enough to do anything
other then drying. And even if it could; not a good plan to soften the
lower end of the case.....

As it is I use a flame annealer. My set up runs off a 20lb bottle. Plan is
to convert to natural gas. My Norma brass needs a 13 second cycle
time. During this time, the case revolves about 6 times in the flame
before dropping away.

Just to keep the heat from traveling down the case.

This is an age old question asked hundreds of times but never seems to go away. Quenching is totally unnecessary and all it does for you is to wet your case. Heated brass cools immediately when the flame is off and there is no where close to enough heat at the neck when done properly to migrate to the base.
