How long can Pro-shot copper solvent IV be left in the bore?

Has anyone used the Pro-Shot Copper Solvent? If so, any ideas how long it can be left in the bore without etching, rusting or anything like some other solvents do? I know they SAY it protects the barrel from rust but??

To preclude leaving anything in the barrel, any amount of time, I recommend the use of JB Bore Cleaning Compound. It removes Copper, and a host of other deposits, including the hardest to get out, Carbon.

Three to five tight fitting patches, after your normal solvent, will have the job done in a few minutes. Follow it up with a couple of patches of your solvent to remove the JB, and you're done. No etching worries to speak of.

how does this solvent work compared to the others? i just bought some today because this was all they had. Does it work? Lee

I use the Pro-Shot copper solvent as well as Montana Extreme and Witches Brew. They all work well.
I have left PSCS in all night. No complaints.

Outdoorsman. I am a believer in JB (well I use Iosso anyway) use every now and then, but not all the time. Most of the time, after I get home from shooting, I put some wet patches of Boreshine through the barrel and put it away, sometimes for a month or more. I havent had any issues with Boreshine doing this, but was wondering if keeping it in the barrel for weeks at a time will cause rust or pitting?

I agree that JB is a better solution. Unfortunately it is going away. Midway has already dropped it from its web site.

That said, every copper solvent I know of is caustic and should not be allowed to dry in your bore..
