How I spent my quarantine vacation

I'm loading a few thousand 9mmPara.
A thousand 308win for gas guns.
And 500 223r also for plinking.

Doing them on the Dillon xl650.

Precision ammo is already loaded for a handful of rifles, but the range is closed

Fortunately my range is still open. Went today. Not many people there. Which is not unusual. But those of us there practiced safe social distancing.

Still working, direct support for essential services, but spending evenings and weekends close to home. I had a big bucket of mixed handgun brass that I have sorted and in the process of cleaning. After a little reading here, I have decided to make the plunge into stainless pin wet tumbling, as soon as it arrives that will keep me busy for an evening or two, as someone commented in another thread, turning my brass into jewelry.

My wife and I built the framing and installed metal roofs on our porches. She had vacation but being a nurse she was told if we went anywhere once we got back she'd have to take an additional 2 weeks off. Doing the roofs were her idea. Life is good.

Lately, I’ve been worrying. Maybe too much? I’m thinking about home defense more. If someone pushes in this door, where’s my closest gun? Fields of fire outside. Concealment locations . That kind of stuff. I think I may be gettin a little” over the top”, but then I watch the News. I never thought it would get this bad. How much worse will it get?

I know.... I told my wife my brain was turning to mush, too much coffee and Fox News girls and not enough work oriented thinking. My take off was perfect. When we were done, a 6' piece of 1x4 and a 18"x8' piece of metal leftover. I don't believe in 10% padding or waste!

Just in case anything gets past my 80lb early warning system, I also have strategically placed weapons. I even went old school with shotguns loaded with buckshot placed behind several of the upstairs doors. Of course, the AR is set up beside my bed.

All I have to say is that the locks on my doors are for the safety of those who would try to enter without permission.

I am thinking about placing a sign at the door that reads. "Are you friend or foe? Be aware that the occupant of this home is a multi-tasker. He can read scripture to you or over you. Now make up your mind if you are friend or foe?"

Ive packed my keltek 32 in my pocket for so many years I have to remember to clean the dust bunny’s and rust from sweat off it every once in a while so it will still function in the case I may need to use it,hoping it wears out in my pocket without ever needing to use it but I feel good knowing I have it just in case!
