How do you use a strain gauge, and where do you get reliable one?

With the version of PT software that I have you take all the measurements of the barrel & cartridge and manually input them into the data base. It didn't come preloaded with specific cartridges. Also you input muzzle velocity from a chronograph which has to be back calculated to the actual muzzle. Inputting muzzle velocity is optional...

+1 I have this kit. The issue you face with the 6.5x47 caliber, at least with my rifle, is that the receiver's barrel tenon is long enough that I am unable to mount the strain gage on the barrel at the midpoint of the powder chamber of the cartridge. As I look at it, I think I may buy one of those cheesy break action single shots and have a barrel chambered in this cartridge for load development, or at least the pressure component of load development.

Cool, I am currently running Windows 8 on my personal laptop. I may call these guys next week and find out their current approved versions.
