I just prime them. If it's too loose (as in I can't feel resistance when seating the primer), I throw it away. If more than a few are too loose, I stop and throw the whole lot away.
I use a hand priming tool that allows me to feel how tight the primers are when seated. If a primer goes in easily, I remove it from the tool and tap the edge of the case head on the reloading bench. If the primer falls out, the case is discarded. If the primer stays in, the case is placed in a box labeled "practice". The practice box contains any case that is not perfect, i.e. loose primer pocket, tight fitting when chambered, dings on the case mouth, etc. These caes are then only used at the range. Whenever I get a new rifle, I designate one box for load development, and that box then becomes my practice box containing cases that have been fired multiple times. This leaves the rest of my caes brand new and ready for hunting or competition.
