How do you polish the insides of your sizing dies?

Boyd, it's not real scientific. I load up a bore mop screwed into a short extension on a cordless drill and do half a dozen in-and-outs. Then clean the beejeezus out of the die and size a case with it. They'll often start working better even when there's no apparent new crosshatch. I use Permatex valve lapping compound. Before you think my cheese has slid off my cracker for using something so 'gritty'...it breaks down really fast and has a very good oil based carrier.

A real dirt clod way of doing it. -Al
My current definition of correct is "It works." What grit? Picture of container?

Here you go. If you get the heebie jeebies about using it, you can just add some to JB, Flitz or Iosso.

Since I live in Arizona ; and we have that "Dry Heat" , Rusting isn't a real problem here , but just usage causes the typical build-up of crud . I use a Bore mop with a light oil , like 3 in 1 , and some Bore-Tec polishing compound on a drill at low speed . Gives a very light cross-hatching , and makes the die work very good .

Cheap aftermarket green pad similar to Scotch Brite, but not as stout. I wrapped it around a nylon 30 caliber brush, loaded it with oil. It's chucked up in a hand held drill and then go to town. It cleans up well after a while. I wasn't sure about using something more aggressive so I stayed away from some sort of polish. The die is clean and sizes brass fine.

Piece of an old Woolrich coat and Colgate tooth past.....And
lots of speed.
Funny thing when I was younger and went to my local dentist with some sore gum problems. He took one look and said your using Colgate tooth paste aren’t you, I had ran out of my regular and picked that up without a clue.

When I bought my first glass top kitchen stove, It came with a small
bottle of polish just for the glass. Smelled like Colgate.....LOL Years ago,
Colgate on a buffer worked good on original steel chromed car bumpers.
I won't tell ya' how we got our M-14 barrels to pass inspection, but some-
thing about strips of green wool blankets and GI tooth paste !!!

Nobody brought up ultrasonic tanks, but things like brakes and suppressors seem to go together with US tanks or they are miserable to clean.

Have not tried ultrasonic..but I have used the Permatex on a lot of stuff including my Die bodies.
and Non Clorinated Brake cleaner works well for cleaning up afterwards.
