How do you keep em straight?

I'm having trouble with runnout when sizing Lapua 6BR brass down to 22BR.
Here's what I am doing. Chamfer the outside edge of the 6br Lapua brass. Lube with Imperial wax. Run into the neck of a Redding 22Br. seating die just a little way. Turn and run in some more. Keep turning and running in about 4 times until it is run in all the way. Then do the same thing with the Redding 22BR FL die. Runnout on the untouched 6BR Lapua brass is .001 or less. After necking down, it is .006 or more!
What am I doing wrong?

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. They will straighten themselves out when you fire form them at 60,000 psi. If you have a good straight chamber you can't make em come out crooked.

Hello Dustycuss, I just had a 22 BR built and I am going through the same challenges with brass. I've loade up 20 rounds to be fireformed, and they look awful! But I'm hoping after fireforming they will look and work much better. Hopefully I can fire them this week.

What load are you planning to use? My first load is 6mm BR Norma brass trimmed to 1.54, run through a Redding Bushing FL sizer first with no bushing, second time with a 0.251 bushing. Using 28.0 of Varget and a Hornady 60 gr HPFB bullet seated to 1.730,measured case head to bullet ogive. My loaded neck diameter is 0.250 so I probably will use a smaller bushing, maybe 249 next time.
