How do you collect club dues by credit card?

We are considering taking club dues online by credit card. We have about 600 members and our annual dues are due Jan 1 each year.

What software does your club use, or what software do you recommend?

Any pros and cons would be helpful.

Thanks,
Ron

Depending on how your website is built and hosting services, there may already be an option for e-commerce transactions, just needs to be enabled.

Don't these credit card services require a monthly charge, if so, doesn't seem like a good use of funds for once a year use.

Both of the ranges in our area are cash or check only. Only clubs that I know of that accept credit cards are those with shops as a part of the club. Of course I don't know that many clubs so, this my thinking may be mistaken.

Square. you can use the Square card reader or set up a web link , no monthly fee, 2.5% .
Please do not use square. No gun owner should come close. Its amazing this has been out since 2014 and people still use it. Social media keeps a lid on anything like this so folks forget

Using square for anything firearm related is a good way to get all your funds frozen. And also they have had numerous class action lawsuits for false charges and fees. Its not near as rosy as it seems- ive seen that first hand. My club used square to collect money for clays and fees and had a years worth of income frozen and had to go to court to get it released after 2 years. Heres another article.

taking cards is not as simple as finding a processor, you are required to be PCI compliant by law, it's a once a year pain in the rear, the forms are Greek to anyone but a cyber security expert, and if you fail to be compliant you are fined every month, some processors say they give assistance in preparing your yearly report so choose carefully, personally I wouldn't go through the hassle for a once a year event

I am in Australia,so probably the banking systems are different in each country, however in Australia we can transfer a direct debit from our personal account to another person’s,or another business account. No waiting for cheques and the hassle of depositing them into your account and no credit card fees.

Our club just started using Second Amendment Payment Processing. So far so good.
