How close is too close?

Just finished changing some optics on a few rifles and my muzzleloader ended up with a 56mm objective beast. Cheekweld weld-great, eye relief-perfect, but there is less than a dime's width of clearence between the front objective and the barrel. Won't be using flip up cap and well.....how fast can you heat up a ML barrel. Should I worry about any kind of barrel whip or just STHU and shoot?

As long as it's not touching your good to go. Always best to keep the scope as low on the receiver as it can go...... If you need the caps to fit, cut out the bottom of it, it works good...
