How big of a bullet can you use on your .300wsm

Was just wondering how big of a bullet can you get to fit in your magazine fed .300wsm and still get them to feed well?. Was considering buying some bullets in that 200gr range but not sure if they will fit in the magazine or not.

It's all in your seating depth. A 250gr SMK will fit if you seat it deep enough, useing up powder space.

Like another member stated above, it's determined by your seating depth. You'll want to determine the max overall cartridge length, per SAAMI spec, then establish your seating depth accordingly.

Is this setup for hunting or target shooting? Many hunting bullets have a cannelure, which CAN eliminate "guess work", so long as the bullet manufacturer positioned the cannelure with YOUR cartridge in mind.

Well I was hoping to get 1 cartridge that I can use for hunting and then take to the range for long distance shooting. That way I will be very familiar with the rifle when it comes time to go hunting. In the end I will probably make a bullet for each but for now I would just like to work on the 1 load to use for both.
