That's because it's a factory rifle and it's a crap shoot if it will be near SAAMI. I was saying with an actual SAAMI chamber it is touching at 2.870". Yours is overly long which can happen in factory rifles. Savage has actually had a bunch that were really short too. Load it to about 2.860 so it fits comfortably in the rifle and work up a load. Again the ELDs don't mind a jump.Not on my rifle. With the Hornady 140 ELD Match, the COAL has to be longer than 2.920 to reach the lands.

That would be an improvement!They will be about .020” oal longer than the 140. The 147 was 2.890” to lands in my SAAMI chamber.
