How are your Standing, Off-Hand Rifle Skills -- Check out this Hunter

I'll start this post by saying that I'm ALMOST old, and grew up in a different time.

I also grew up in a place where there was vast areas of empty space where we didn't consider the safety of lobbing bullets in various directions.

A popular skill that many of us acquired was tossing bottles, cans, rocks, etc., into the air and shooting it with our 22's or other rifles, and even pistols.

I was pretty adept at scoring hits with open sights, and low power scopes, and with one rifle in particular, I would bet a buck per toss with anyone who wanted to lose some money. (standard size soup can, or baseball sized rock)

Quick acquisition of your sights is a skill that is easily learned, and best done with an empty gun and dry fire. It's been years since I've done this dangerous activity, and the last time I tried with a BB gun I wasn't much good.

I'll end by saying Children, Do Not Do This. It Is An Unsafe Practice! jd

Yes that dude is some kind of good! I've seen his videos before. Grew up busting rabbits on the run, but with a 410 ;). I was too poor to own 2 guns! Have shot tossed cans with a 22 rimfire and that isn't difficult if you catch the can right at the top of it's travel and before it starts down. Now I know I'll be flamed for being unethical for shooting a buck 276 yards running, but that is the only running shot I can brag on. The best part is having a buddy standing right beside me when it happened. One shot with a bolt action 6 Dasher and 105 Berger HVLD's. Priceless :D
