hot case

does it mean anything if after you shoot the brass becomes hot after firing????? No other signs of pressure. this isn't a hot load by any means.

If you are shooting them in a semi auto, they will almost singe hair when they come out of the chamber. What are you shooting them in?

my ar is one gun. seemed like the brass in my 243 bolt action was pretty hot yesterday. could be because it was sitting out in 84 degree in the sun. mighta heated it up just a little more when i shot it. just never noticed it before.

Ya, Olde Mr. Sunshine beatin down on yer cartridges is kind of a big deal,

It's something I try to avoid esp on those really hot. Raising the temp of the finished cartridge can affect the pressures and accuracy to some degree, (ouch).

Another lesson I've learned is to not "cook" the cartridge, during range sessions or during a match the barrel and chamber gets hot, if you throw a round in a hot chamber and wait/dally to take the shot the barrel heat transfers to the case/powder. I does take practice to be prepared to take the shot within 5-10 seconds after loading.
