Horrible news from Australia

Prayers to all those affected by this tragedy.

I also wonder if the armed citizen could have changed the outcome?

I see so many good people doing good things, it is sometimes hard for me to fathom that small percentage of ugliness.
Dang the evil in this world!

I kept waiting for that hero to pull the trigger on that worthless coward but he must have been a christian man or it was empty. Doug
I watched that news video showing the guy coming out of the crowed and
bear hugged him huge. After taking the shotgun from him, he pointed it at
him but let him walk away. Empty or not, Christian or not, he had a club. Next
shot was an older gent throwing something at him. Don't hear about things
like this at all down under

Leg shot(s) is abt the worst thing you could do when perp is unarmed. That would open the door to an avalanche of woe by the poor, semi innocent's lawyers n bleeding heart jury.

To take this to the extreme of taking him off the board, the time to do it would be in the middle of the takedown...." l expected him to have a pistol as well...." heat of the moment of unknowns, therefore not an execution. Otherwise, I would have rendered him very unconscious w no break in the melee.

Itsa pity the general public can only partially defend themselves.

The hero is a fruit shop owner and he is of Arabic heritage. Reported that he had no experience with firearms. He was subsequently wounded and is in hospital. The terrorist shooters were a father and son. Looks like father killed by police, son critical. Father was a licenced gun owner for past 10 years. He had 6 guns that the police say were recovered. It has been reported that there were 2 improvised explosive devices their car.

If you think Australian gun laws are tough, it now going escalate

Where were the terrorists from?

It was a dark day for sure and one that will affect Australia for years to come. That was our worst massacre since Port Arthur in 1996, gun laws changed then, and they will change now, with limits on the number of firearms one person can own likely to be limited. I won't use this forum to go on about the likely change of laws as nothing has been proposed yet.

I have travelled to the US multiple times over the past couple of years and I understand that there's a big difference between Australia's gun laws and your own. Many Australians were watching footage of the Brown University incident on TV prior to the Bondi incident kicking off and we simply don't experience this level of gun violence in the same way as other countries around the world.

This incident did touch people close to me however, and it's a day we won't forget.

I too wondered about "the armed citizen". After this happening, it might be a good idea to arm Jews, if they consented, Licenced or otherwise. IMO
