HORRIBLE BRASS

I've had the opposite experience with 243win brass. I bought Lapua brass and was not able to get consistent small groups like I do with Winchester brass. I thought it might get better on the second firing, but that was not the case. I went back to Winchester brass.

if you tried using the same exact load with your Winchester brass as your Lapua brass it probably wont work. Been there done that pal. When I switched from Winchester to Lapua, I had to work a whole new load up for that brass. Once that was complete, the Lapua shot better and more consistent than the Winchester. And the Lapua cases are still working well.

Ever bag of Winchester brass I ever purchased had several defective cases, i.e. split necks, cold laps in the shoulder and / or necks. Some bags as high as 5%. Once those were eliminated the brass worked ok. However I had one lot of 308 brass where the necks were very thin so much so that the expander ball would not expand the neck.

I'm not a fan of Winchester brass. I've had much better expereinces with Remington and more recently Hornady. I'm not a competitive shooter so my standards may not be as high as others but I do want cases that are reasonably reliable.

Thinking of trying so Lapua - hear so many good things about them.
