Hornady Twist ??

Does Hornady have a chart for twist rate??
For Hornady 6mm 85gr interbond
I need to order a new barrel and I have a 1/10 now and I think a 1/9 or even a 1/8 would help my groups on my 240 Weatherby hunting rifle.
What do you think

Hornady does not have a chart that I'm aware of because of the number of variables associated with twist rate. Some of the boxes used to have the suggested twist rate printed on one of the box flaps. The new design doesn't seem to have it that I can find on the examples I have right here and now. I'm sure they will help you out if you call or e-mail them.

I would suggest thinking through the other bullets which you might use in this rifle before specifying a twist rate. Longer (heavier or solids) might require a faster twist rate, while shorter (lighter) bullets should be just fine with the faster twist rate. Based on a simple calculation it appears that you can use the 1:10" twist without any worries as long as you don't shoot bullets that have a greater length.
