Hornady return policy - any experiences?

Picked up a new .223 Hornady New Dimension die set a couple days ago, really like it, works great. Anyhow the decapping pin, expander, and rod (zip spindle) all snapped, crackled and popped. The good folks at Hornady supply an extra pin and zip spindle, but not an expander and in the parts list the expander cannot be ordered.

No, I did not slam it into a Berdan case. Seemed to be very brittle based on the damage and how easily it happened.

Anyone have any experiences with sending stuff back to Hornady?

A quick email to Hornady with an explanation of the problems got me replacement parts. No questions asked. ;) Good and easy folks to deal with. 8)
 
You might see if you can measure your flashole to make sure they are not undersized,I have seen this with some malaysian ball ammo I tried to reload and are they on center,again I have run into winchester with the hole way off center.
 
The "Zip Spindle" leaves a LOT to be desired! That's why I got a "couple" of extras when I got replacements. ;) Crimped in or tight primers and the Zip Spindle don't get along too well. ::)

Yes, they were crimped primers and it could be that the hole was off a little, will have to take a look at that.

Update:

The good people at Hornady sent an email this morning and order confirmation # stating they are shipping out replacements at no charge to me.

I was quite surprised that they responded at all, but especially at how quickly and without question. That is quite refreshing in this day and age.
