Hornady Match 105 BTHP

Anyone tried the Hornady Match Bullet in a Dasher or BR ? The new one with the AMP jacket. Seems to have a very long bearing surface. I will give them a try at 1000yd this weekend and let you know what I think.

Chief

I am shooting them in a 6BR and in the 240 Tomahawk. Shoot very well, seem to have the same elevation at 500-600 as the 107 SMK. The bearing surface is long but they don't mind jump. Have shot a few 200 in 500 yd prone matches and the price is right, Dave

105 Hornady--Have shot them in my 6BRX at 600 ---accuracy was very good--they hit about 3 inches lower than Sierra 107s at 600 yds with Varget -- was using ( LRM ) RL 15 behind the 105s-- need to try Varget behind them, may be no drop ?

I use them in my Savage F Class 6mmBR rifle (stock standard) for F Class Open,
they shoot very well with 30.5 grains Varget, CCI BR4 primer, 0.015" in the lands.
From a 100 meter zero I come up 31 minutes to get to 900 meters, close enough to 1000 yds.
Shot this load last weekend at 800 meters and only dropped one point, hope I can do this well
at 900m today ::)

hope this helps, Chris

Note edit...should have been 30.5 grains vs 30.0, in this barrel gives me bang on 2840fps with
single digit SD's. Maybe able to load to a higher speed but brass have been reloaded 10-12 times
and primer pockets still as tight as first loading.

Well got some loaded for a 1000yd match tomorrow in 6Dasher with 32.5 varget and CCI 450 . Give some feed back Saturday nite.

Hmmm. Did not go well today, conditions horrible, windy and a drizzle. Also seems that I need to anneal after every firing. Got some rounds left over from last match that gave me a win at 600yd for Score.

I have shot them in my 6mmAR across-the-course gun at 600. Very good bullet, though it does give up a little bit in BC compared the the Berger 105 hybrid. Still... it shot nice groups in my gun and doesn't give up much to the hybrid in the wind. I pushed them to about 2750 with RL-15 and CCI BR4s.
