Hornady LNL press converter bushing

Hi,
I have been using a Rock Chucker press for over 20 years and it has served me well. One aspect that I would like to improve is the ease of changing dies. Hornady has come up with this 1-1/4-12 conversion bushing system which allows a press like the Rock Chucker to use their 'Lock and Load' quick change system. I am wondering if anyone out there has tried this and if they have any comments on the performance, good or bad) of the system, especially if they have seen effects on consistency and concentricity of the loaded ammo.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Go for it. I converted my Rockchucker a couple of years ago and never looked back. The parts are very well made, and although I never thought to measure, I don't believe that straightness or anything else is an issue. Once converted, you can switch out dies in a couple of seconds.....twist old one out, new one in, viola!

I had to use a 3/4' socket set to remove the original bushing, a crescent wrench didn't have enough leverage. Once I used the large socket, it came right out. Good luck!

Ott,
Thanks for the info. For the small investment, it seems to work well, not much to lose. Looking at the pictures of the converter bushing itself, it does not seem to have flats for a wrench. Is it difficult to tighten down properly, at least enough for it to stay in place?
