Hornady LNL AP Press powder drop return spring

This is regarding a LNL AP press mounted powder measure.

I had the return spring go flying into the nether world yesterday. Don’t know if it broke or slipped off as I can’t find it. Midway has replacements for $3.99 which seems expensive for a spring and that doesn’t include shipping. Anyone know of a replacement available from a hardware store such as “ACE”??

It's not a critical item. As long as you get some force on the measure to pull it back down, you're good (though I haven't tried, it may not even be necessary.) Any, what, 1.5" extension spring with a J-hook on either end should work.

The $3.99, while pricey, is nothing compared to additional $12 shipping you'll incur.

They will/are as a goodwill gesture. Lady said springs are not covered under any warranty. Stated they are way behind so it might be 2 weeks or longer.

Hornady has been goodwilling me for decades as have RCBS, Redding, Lee and Dillon. LOL

Forgot about this, so just got around to measuring:

Wire diameter: .044
Coiled length: .984
OAL: 1.585
Coil diameter: .360 (outside dia)
21 coils (I think)
