Hornady Factory ammo

Hornady 6mm Creedmoor 108 ELD match . Shot that at the range and it was amazingly accurate ,under 1/2 MOA at 100yds. Loading the particular bullet I never achieve that level of accuracy out of my PRS rifle. So I pulled one of the bullets. Powder charge was 39.8grs of what looked like Re#16 or H4350 ? Muzzle Velocity out of 26" Bartlein was 2920 FPS. So could the low velocity of that bullet be a clue as to why they shot so good ? I usually load 40.5 grs of H4350 for 3,025 FPS with average accuracy .

The only way to find out would be reload some down to that fps and see what happens. The only bad side with factory ammo is that you never do know what powder they use. Most are using their own mix. I do agree with you on the Hornady factory ammo thou. I have had really good luck with most calibers in their ammo. 6ARC, 6.5 Grendel, and 6 Creed. I have no issues using it in a pitch!

Yeah the powder was neither of those. That said as mentioned loading some down lower would show you in your rifle if the velocity is key. Load them 100fps slower and see. If they did work they would also save a little barrel life for you.

I shot Hornady 108 ELD factory ammo in a RPR in 6 Creedmoor and like you, accuracy was stunning.
Handloaded 105 Nosler CC with RL19 matched the precision of the ELD

It’s not but 3025 is not near top with the 6 creed. Back when they came out people were pushing the 3200fps limit but backed down for matches as it wasn’t needed. Being around 3000-3025 is middle road for the cartridge and the bullets mentioned. Factory ammo in my rifle is right at about 3030 and accurate.

I'm dicking around with a new Aero Precision AR in 6MM ARC and I bought a few hundred rounds of 105 grain Hornady Black as a base to work from and to get the brass. Accuracy is outstanding, as far as I can find put for their ammo they are using leverevolution powder in the 6MM ARC.
