Hornady Expands A-Tip Lineup: .224 & .284

Berger's best 6.5mm for the .260 Rem (best meaning highest BC that is not too-heavy for the cartridge) is their 140 grain Hybrid Target bullet. This bullet has a G1 BC of 0.607 while the 135 grain A-Tip has a G1 BC of 0.637. Shooting an underclassed cartridge like the .260 at 1000 yards, the A-Tip might give a little edge.

Well I'm quite interested in these new A-Tips myself, and for good reason.

I shot with Dave Preston at the PRS match in Meaford back in September 2019 and he won the match using 6mm A-Tips.

His score was like 208 out of a possible 220 or something like that.

The advertised BCs are unheard of, and if they are honest and shoot well it could be very exciting for long range guys.

I'll be first on the bus with the .224 90's and I'll run them in my 223 seated out around 2.630" OAL and I'm sure I'll hit 2900 FPS like I've been doing with 88 ELDs.
