Hornady Bullet Lot # vs Press #

Maybe I'm being WAY too anal about all of this, but I just ordered 5200 22cal 75gr BTHPs for a 223 rem build. Tried to buy enough to last the whole barrel life. I bought one 4k pack, and two 600 packs. Assuming they would be different lot numbers, I was planning on using the 600 packs for breaking in the barrel, fouling, and short range rounds. Luckily, they all have the same lot number, but the 4k pack has the lot number, and then a press number...whereas the 600 packs have just a lot number. Am I safe to assume the lot number is all that matters? I compared the base-to-ogive lengths for both sets and they are the same. I just don't want to mix the two and then find out the press number makes a difference.

The only way to know for sure is to ask Hornady. In a good QC program the lot number itself should tie the finished product to the specific process that produced it so it should not be an issue. However that is an assumption.

In case anyone has this question in the future: I just spoke to Hornady and they said the lot number is all that matters. They just print the press number on the larger 4k packs and not on the 600 packs. So into the same tote they go!
