Thank you, much appreciated!
Santa just dropped off 200 for me to test in a 6.5 CM. I've got the new stem, and Hornaday loading manual insert. My only questions are to jump or not to jump and what powder to use. RL 16, 17, 23 or H4350? The velocity spread over the 4 is 75 FPS at max charge, an amount easily exceeded by typical lot variation, IMOP.
RL 17 is temp sensitive. 16 is un-obtainium it seems. I have H4350, but is it the best? Or best just because its in my drawer.
I was kind of thinking RL19.
This will be shot out of a bolt gun with 26 in barrel at 300 yds and UNDER.
Any opinions?
The proof in price needs to show its worth on paper...…. just saying.
To Texas10:
FYI, Powder Valley and Midsouth both have Alliant Reloder 16 IN-STOCK in both 1-lb and 8-lb sizes. SEE:

REQUEST: Please publish your results with the 135gr A-Tips. Many people are asking about them. What is your barrel's twist RATE?
That's pretty good news with the 8 twist barrel. Guessing your elevation is fairly low so it shouldn't take a faster barrel unless your below the 2900 fps range. Also needing around 7" less elevation tells that the BC is close as wellShot a few 153 Tips Friday. They were, as others noted, very consistent dimensionally. I really don't want to like them because of the price alone so I was looking for any excuse. By the time I got the #@*$ box open and all the little straps and "egg crate" packing crap in its proper place (File 13) I was really feeling good about finding that excuse. Then I noticed that funky red bag, very similar to a Crown Royal bag in the box. WTH is going on?! Oh yeah, I'm really gonna hate these things. Off to the range I go, only ten rounds of 6.5PRC with 153 Tip ahead of 58 gr Retumbo and some FGMM Magnum primers to light the fuse. Loading 58.5 Retumbo makes 3,100 with 140 ELDM and finds target center with 7.1 Mils of elevation. The Atips, tamed by the Area419 Hellfire brake, got to the 1,000 yard gong's center with .2 mil less elevation and all indication is that more powder could be added to them.
Groups, while I took no pix, were somewhat better and more centered than with 140 ELDM. Will I be a convert? Uh,,,,maybe. Still have to wait and see.
Oh, the 8 twist Kreiger seemed to have no trouble stabilizing them either so maybe the claim of forgiving of twist is valid.
