I was talking with a few guys in Colorado using them on Coyotes, and they have been very disappointed. The 62 gr 22 is a very good, but they can't get the 80 to group worth a darn.

Hopefully they just aren't pushing them fast enough or something.

I've read a lot of postings. People trying to shoot them in the wrong twist, and shooting at mag length, and trying to make it work in ar15s and whatnot.

Nobody just shooting a load workup. In fact, I've never seen one.

I tend to agree with you. I haven't found any bullet that will inherently NOT shoot in every platform. Maybe a barrel or two won't like them, but they will eventually get there. We shall see I guess.

Seems to be a lot less interest in the 80 compared to the 62. In my next 6 creed barrel im going to try switching to this, so post your results!

I’m about to start load development in my 8 twist 6BR. It’s a single shot action so I will be able to seat them out a ways. I’ll post some info here once I do it.

Had a pistol put together and shot some this morning. 15" bartlein barrel. 7.5 twist. Virgin lapua and 29 grains of varget. Loaded up to 30.5 grains. 2600-2800 fps. 20 thousands off touch. Shot well to me. Shot few groups out to 300 yards and held 1.5" 3 Shot group.

I'm gonna try some n140 next to see how it does.

I was using N140 and these 80gr eldvt in a 6br 8T 24” barrel velocity was right at 3000 could have went higher but this shot well. 65gr vmax were more explosive for ground squirrels.

I shot them in a 1-9 GT last year when they first came out. Shot .28 with no seating work. H4895. Shot several coyotes with them out to 325 or so. They perform much more like a match bullet, terminally, than a varmint bullet. Didn't lose any, or have any runners. But did have a couple spinners. Every one had an exit.

I definitely need to try these in my freshly barreled 1-8 6-284. Sportsman's Warehouse had them for $58- kinda put me off for a minute. I think I will try and resume the search again.

This has got me wondering about the 100 grain ones in a 6.5 Creedmoor. Maybe some Varget at a slower speed around 2900?
The bullet is fairly long that compares to the 140’s in length.

For those experiencing un-acceptable accuracy I would be interested in knowing more. What twist rate & how far off the lands for example. Then I suppose we may find it enlightening to see the same data points from those who have been happy from the performance when trying the 80 gr ELD-VT in their rig.

Suspect some may not realize what the length is as well as how far back the center of gravity is on this offering. Twist rate requirement is faster than many would expect given the length & weight distribution of this particular bullet. For example I do not think a 9 twist would be adequate for proper stabilization of this projectile.

Is there anymore feedback on these 80 Gr VT now? I was thinking about trying them for prairie dogs in my 8 Twist 6XC, but the online reviews don’t seem overwhelmingly positive. I might be better off sticking with 87 V Max, especially considering the price difference.
