Hornady 7mm 162gr eld match

Can't speak to your tests as I wasn't there but the velocities especially at longer ranges will effect the BC. Also if looking for an average BC for long range then then the box number isn't the one to use. It's an average 200 yard BC to give people an apples to apples comparison with other brands. If you go to the Hornady page with their banded BCs and average the three bands that will work better at longer range.

Oh I know as they have no less than 4 different bc out there. Litz has it in the 320ish area for g7 which middle of the 2 lower numbers.

Figure I would post bake with a few measurements although they might not matter. Coal on my eld and amax are all within the same .005 window with average being 1.421" and off ogive they are all identical at .730. Now with all that being said Litz profile has them at 1.431 for coal which means the batch he used for testing were a bit longer.

I believe that could make the difference. Very curious as to why such a difference unless one or the other device used to measure his and your bullets was inaccurate. I had a bullet comparator insert that was way off. I sent it back to hornady and they replaced it.

Couldn't say. Mine's been tested agaisnt a mitutoyo I use at work and it's not exact but within .0005 so I doubt it's that unless I'm measuring coal wrong lol.

Agreed. These are all early lots with the clearish tips so that could be it. I'll go through them later and see if any are newer lots and see if they are different.

I have 1000 162 Amax bullets and 1000 162 ELDs. Although they do have a physical difference of a small degree, they share drop data that is almost identical. At least in my two rifles I've shot them in. Even at the 120 fps difference the guns have ( due to barrel length and coal), there drop is less than a half inch at 600 yards using the 162s. That's close enough for me to believe that there G1/G7 numbers are very close. I understand others have found a larger spread and I cannot speak on there experience. Maybe the lots are in fact different but that would be a bit disappointing to me if they were that far off from lot to lot.
